Regional Training Specialist (0865) – Fishkill

Basic Function:
Plans, designs, schedules and delivers internal training programs to increase job related skills and knowledge in support of the needs of the Bank’s businesses.

Responsibilities:
Delivers Teller and Teller In Charge classroom and internal training programs at any of several training locations in the Eastern Region (Albany, Fishkill and Philadelphia). May also co-facilitate specialized training programs under the guidance of a Training Specialist III, Training Manager or Retail Sales Administration.
May be involved in initial training design and enhancing training programs and/ or materials.
Confers with management to gain strong knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in branch policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies.
May support Regional Operations Coordinators with fraud and audit related responsibilities as it pertains to teller training.  
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Adapts classroom instruction, as needed, to meet trainee needs.
Monitors participants in class and addresses all problems including work habits and performance.  Works with HR Generalist and the branch management team to address performance issues, as needed.
Evaluates trainees’ performance and progress through observation, verbal questioning and a variety of assessment mechanisms.  Provides coaching, feedback and directions to trainees to facilitate development of desired knowledge and skill.
Maintains all records necessary with respect to the progress, performance, work habits and attendance of trainees.  Addresses needs and problems that arise during training classes.
Where applicable, completes appraisals on the performance of each trainees and submits to management along with recommendations for support.
Utilizes several methods ie: float teller support and branch visits, to review and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and makes recommendations, as necessary.
Some degree of latitude and creativity is expected.
May manage specific training program(s), such as the In-Branch Teller Training Program and Eastern Teller Skill-based workshops. 
May lead the work of others.
May obtain required vendor certifications for specific training programs.
Serves as an agent for change.
Performs other duties, as assigned.
Works under limited supervision.
Primary job functions typically require exercising some independent judgment

Basic Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. 
Post high school coursework or experience in banking, finance or banking related fields.
Minimum of 1 – 4 years related experience including banking, customer service and/or teaching/training.
Strong ability to instruct at various education levels.
Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills. 
Ability to speak and write clearly, concisely and ability to listen to understand, fostering open and effective communication. 
Ability to create an effective learning environment.
Ability to take charge in the absence of detailed instruction.
Demonstrates self-reliance and resourcefulness.
